It was less than a year ago that I told you to wear pencil skirts and that I thought they were fabulous. I still do but I have to admit that I have a new love: The A-Line Skater Skirt
Zoeey Deschanel wore one on New Girl this week. She is the queen of the full skirt. I want to wear one everyday. But I am not talking about the regular boring a-line skirt you still have in your closet from last time around, I am talking about that skirt's cooler younger cousin with pleats, and oversized shape and I want to wear one everyday {did I mention that already?}. Ok, so here we go! Let's look at some of these pretty, little, feminine, skater skirts.
Here are my tips to wear them right!
1. For those with full hips: You are in luck, this cut it for you because it will mask your heavier bottom, but compliment your tiny waist. Make sure you pair it with a fitted, short top that doesn't cover your waist otherwise it will add more to your hips and take away from your waistline.
2. For the petite ladies: You are short already, so a full skirt can make you look stumpier, but, that doesn't mean that you can't wear this style, you just need to make sure that the skirt hits above your knees and that you wear it with heels. The extra lift from the shoes will give your legs the length that you need to wear a fuller style.
3. For those who are long and lean: This look will work as well on you as it will with the gals with the nice hips. You may not have the most defined waistline, but a skirt shaped like this will give you curves in all the right places.
4. For the ladies with a tummy: An a-line skirt has always been your favorite because it skims away from the body at all the right points for you. The news for you is to choose a lighter fabric with less pleats so that you don't add needed bulk to your frame.
And remember: Rock it till you LOVE it!
